Hyderabad: Superstar Chiranjeevi took on actor Sanjay Dutt's role when Munnabhai MBBS was remade in Telugu. Now the star is all set to step into Dutt's shoes once again for the remake of Lage Raho Munnabhai titled as Shankardada Zindabad.

“I am 100 per cent sure that I will enjoying doing this. It is a kind of re-make and it definitely gives me a lot of kick and energy. We accepted this proposal because of the success of Shankardada MBBS,” Chiranjeevi says.

The unit of the new film is excited about the sequel with the muhurat shot of Shankardada Zindabad being a chat on Gandhigiri between Chiranjeevi and actor Srikanth. And this was how it went.

Chiranjeevi: What did Gandhiji say?

Srikanth: Did he say something to you? He never told me anything.

Chiranjeevi: If someone slaps you on one cheek, show them the other cheek. Since they shot on the front we will show them the back of the vehicle too.

Srikanth: Why so?

Chiranjeevi: Because this will change the way they think and will stop such acts.

Srikanth, who does the Arshad Warsi act in this film as well, plays the role of ATM or Any Time Murder. And choreographer Prabhu Deva will be multi-tasking as dance director and film director on this remake.

“Since Chiranjeevi sir is there, the image is a little different. We are not trying to change the main theme but we will have more of commercial elements,” Prabhu Deva explains.

While Vidya Balan and Nayanathara's names are doing the rounds for the lead female actor, production for the film starts from mid-February onwards and is scheduled for a June release.

And Chiranjeevi's brother Pavan Kalyan who made an appearance in Shankardada MBBS could well step in for Abhishek Bachchan's cameo in this one.

If the success of Gandhigiri is anything to go by then ShankarDada may well have a hit on his hands this time too.
