Chiranjeevi's Shankardada... set for a mega release

Hyderabad: Telugu star Chiranjeevi steps into Sanjay Dutt's shoes for this remake of the Bollywood hit Lage Raho Munnabhai.

“The name Shankardada has become so popular that it inspired us to make the first-ever sequel in Telugu films with Shankardada Zindabad,” Chiranjeevi said.

Vidya Balan’s role will be played by debutante model Karishma Kotak while the character Circuit played by Arshad Warsi in the Hindi version is being played by Srikanth as ‘ATM’.

Interestingly, some of Chiranjeevi's family members including brothers Pawan Kalyan and Nagendra Babu and son-in-law Allu Arjun will have a guest appearances in the film along with other actors Nagarjuna and Raviteja.

The distribution rights of the film have been sold for a record Rs 8.5 crore rupees in the Nizam area and for Rs 7.5 crore in the north Andhra region.

A visibly excited Chiranjeevi says he is sure that the remake will have the same impact as the Hindi original.

“You will become religious after watching the movie, as you will be under the Gandhi effect,” Chiranjeevi said.

Directed by Prabhudeva, Shankardada Zindabad is releasing in as many as 47 theaters in Hyderabad including Prasad's Imax which will screen 20 shows for the first three days after it's release.
