Chiru appeals to fans to see bro's new film

Hyderabad: Jalsa is an important film for the Telugu star Pawan Kalyan, after all, a series of flops for three years in a row is not good news. And with brother Chiranjeevi appealing to his own fans to ensure that Jalsa makes the cut, it is sure to generate high viewership — at least when it opens.

But that's not the only reason why there's a buzz around the film.

The producer of Jalsa, Allu Arvind says, "I learnt from the way Sivaji was marketed. We introduced mobile games, bluetooth kiosks, we just built up the hype so much that people would get fed up of seeing Jalsa everywhere. Then they'll want to watch it, just to see what is the hype all about."

Over 20 per cent of the film's budget has been spent on marketing it. Mobile and online games, free trailers that can be downloaded via Bluetooth kiosks at popular malls, hoardings across the city — the result is that Jalsa is already sold out for a week.

"There is a Jalsa craze now as Chiranjeevi is expected to launch his political party soon," says a fan.

I hope Jalsa will break all records, including that of Pokiri and achieve international success. I'm eagerly waiting for it," adds another fan.

Jalsa releases in close to 1,000 screens with 400 prints doing the rounds in India and countries abroad like Ireland, Scotland, the UK and the US. And why a Wednesday release? Well, the producer simply wants a long weekend so he can have two more days to cash in on his big film.
