Mirpur: Chittagong Kings pipped Duronto Rajshahi by four wickets on Saturday to set up a semi-final clash with Sylhet Royals. Mukhtar Ali, skipper of Duronto Rajshahi, won the toss and opted to bat but Taskin Ahmed bowled with demonic precision to chalk up three wickets to reduce Duronto Rajshahi to 36 for 4. Though Sean Ervine tried to steady the innings, Chittagong Kings' bowlers never let their opponent recover from the early jolts.
Ervine remained unbeaten on 47 and Duronto Rajshahi could only manage 107 for 7 in 2o overs. Jason Roy gave Chittagong Kings a flying start before falling to Naeem Islam for 30. The wickets kept tumbling at regular interval but Ravi Bopara held one end doggedly and steered his team to the victory in the 18th over. He remained unbeaten for 34. T Ahmed was adjudged Man of the Match for his fine bowling effort.
