Tarun Tahiliani plays it safe at Chivas Fashion Tour

Mumbai: The Chivas Fashion Tour 2007 kicked off in Mumbai with designer Tarun Tahiliani's spring-summer collection on Friday night.

And the highlight of Day One of the Chivas Fashion Tour 2007 was ace designer Tarun Tahiliani's fashion show. The King of Drapes, however preferred to play it safe by choosing Black.

“It’s a night cocktail collection. I just thought black was fantastic,” said Tahiliani.

Though the show began with mysterious black, soon came the muted drapes, which were followed by a grand finale with the bridal wear line.

It was an evening dominated by black not just on the ramp but off it as well.

“I am wearing a Tarun Tahiliani with my jeans,” said former model Meher Jessia.

“There were a lot of muted shades with black. And suddenly there was this burst of energy, which came out in vibrant colours,” added model Mark Robinson.

And on a seemingly Black Friday of sorts, one man stood out in his white Rohit Bal creation.

“I like wearing close fit clothes that he (Rohit) creates. Because I feel if you have a good body, you must show it and people should notice it,” said actor and TV host, Shekhar Suman.

Running over the weekend in Mumbai - other big names like Narendra Kumar, Wendell Rockericks, Rocky S and Vikram Phadnis will be showcasing their collections in the coming days.
