Avondale: Daniel Chopra had an incredible eight birdies but still came back only with a two-under 70 in the second round of the Zurich Classic at New Orleans on Friday.
Chopra, who made his first cut on the PGA Tour this season, had a terrible triple bogey on the 11th and a double on the 16th after starting from the tenth. He had eight birdies, three on the back nine of the course, which played in two-over 38, but on his second nine, he had five birdies and just one bogey for a eventful 70.
Chopra's only cut this year came on the Nationwide Tour.

Daniel Chopra came back with a two-under 70 in the second round of the Zurich Classic at New Orleans.
He is now eight-under 136 but four behind the leader and in tied 11th place. The leader is Jason Dufner (65), who is looking for his first win on the Tour.
Dufner has had at least a share of the half-way lead in two of his last four starts, including the Masters. He is 12-under 132 for two days.
Russell Knox (64), Ken Duke (66) and John Rollins (68) are all tied second at 11-under 133. Greg Chalmers, who had an eagle on par-4 first also shot 66, and he joined Steve Stricker (68) and Ernie Els (68) in tied fifth at 10-under 134.
Masters champion Bubba Watson (71-71) just made the cut, which came at two-under 142.
