Kolkata: The Bengali version of long-running crime series 'CID' will hit the small screen Nov 12. Christened 'CID Kolkata Bureau', the detective series will initially be broadcast every Monday and Tuesday at the prime-time slot on Sony's Bengali entertainment channel Aath, said NP Singh, chief operating officer, Multi Screen Media, which manages the channel.
The series will have Bengali counterparts of the characters in the original show, which is successfully running since 15 years and has made the protagonist, ACP Pradyuman, a household name.
"We have a team of five writers based in Kolkata and guest appearances by popular Bengali celebrities will be included. Characters from the original squad like ACP Pradyuman, Senior Inspector Daya and the rest will make brief appearances too," said 'CID' producer BP Singh.

The series will have Bengali counterparts of the characters in the original show, which is successfully running since 15 years.
"I have tried to keep the essence of the original 'CID' intact, but at the same time I have portrayed the role of the bureau head in my own style," said actor Kaushik Chakraborty, who enacts the role of ACP Birsingha, the counterpart of ACP Pradyuman in the original 'CID' squad.
