New Delhi: On Mahatma Gandhi's martyrdom day citizen groups across India took out a march against Corruption. Several marches were held across several cities against corruption. People from all walks of life, of all age groups came out in the thousands to stand up against corruption.

In Delhi, thousands of people walked through heart of the city from Ramlila Ground to Jantar Mantar under the banner of India Against Corruption, and raised slogan against rampant corruption and immediate passage of Jan Lokpal (Citizen's ombudsman) Bill.

The rally, organised by Art of Living Founder Sri Sri Ravishankar and noted RTI activist Arun Kejriwal, was addressed by eminent personalities like Kiran Bedi, Ram Jethmalani, Prashant Bhushan, Sashi Bhushan, Mehmood Madani, Medha Patekar and others.

Former IPS officer Kiran Bedi addressing the crowd said the current law against corruption is "inefficient" to fight against corrupt people as it is "formulated to protect them".

And it wasn't just Delhi. This first of its kind movement against corruption brought people together from across the country. From Kolkata to Mumbai, Hyderabad to Chennai thousands came out on to the streets shouting slogans against corruption and to promote the Jan Lokayukta bill

Protesters in Kolkata also looked committed to the cause. About 5 lakh protesters gathered at Bada Bazaar in the city the starting point of the march.
