City school student bags gold medal

BHUBANESWAR:  Sampriti Panda of SAI International School has bagged the University of New South Wales (UNSW) gold medal in computer skills in the Macmillan International Assessment for Indian Schools (IAIS) 2011.
 Around two lakh students from Class III to Class XII from 16 countries across the world had participated in the competition. The test assesses skills in English, mathematics, science and computer skills. Sampriti has bagged the gold medal in the Class VII category for  achievement in the computer skills section in the Asia-Pacific zone.
 Steve Jobs, being his inspiration, Sampriti never misses a day of school and devotes six hours to study even during holidays. “I want to work in the field of  computers and electronics. I love the design aspect of Apple products,” said Sampriti.
