The incident took place on Thursday night at the house of the accused. The 16-year-old boy had called the victim home and following an altercation allegedly strangled him with a rope.
He then dumped the body in a sack and hid it under the sofa at his house.
Apparently, there was no one else in the house at the time of the incident.
The mother of the accused recovered the body the next day and reported the incident to the police.
Reports suggest that the two boys had a sexual relationship.
"The boys' family did not approve of them meeting each other. They even used to beat the boy up. People say that the two boys had a sexual relationship," R Sutaar, Inspector, Igatpuri said.
