Bangalore: Agitated students have queued up at the pre-university education department in Bangalore, after they found glaring errors in their class XII exam results.
Students with brilliant academic records have failed and some students even found marks of subjects that they didn't attempt.
“Now I've got good marks in everything, but in physics I've failed. I don't know why,” said pre-university student (crying) Bhavya K.
If you were in Bhavya's place, you would be crying too. She has got zero in Physics in her pre-university exam, the state equivalent of Class XII. This when Bhavya has always been a distinction-holder.
Anxious parents and students have been lining up at the Department of Pre-University Education since Friday, complaining of major goof-ups in the results.
Rajashree N S, along with her mother, for instance, tried hard for four hours to get her problem solved.
“All there's a zero, zero, zero – in physics, chemistry, maths and biology – and for everything I expected 90. If we come and say, they're saying, you have taken zero, again write the exam,” said Rajashree.
That's not all; some students even said they had marks for subjects they never opted for.
But officials insist there are no problems.
“There are no glaring mistakes. Sometimes students’ expectations are over-pitched. When marks are not up to it, they're agitated. It’s quite natural,” said Pre-University Education Commissioner S G Hegde.
The goof-up in results comes at a crucial time for students – they've just finished their pre-university and will be getting admissions into degree, engineering or medical courses.
“We have to wait for 20 to 25 days. For CET counseling we'll have problems,” said Rajashree.
And for the hapless students it’s a very long wait.
