Cold wave continues in North India

New Delhi: The cold continues to bite in North India with sub-zero temperatures in most places - More than hundred dead with no relief in sight, the cold wave continues in North and North-West India.

On Wednesday the mercury had plunged to 1.9, five degrees below normal. It was 0 degree celsius in Amritsar, while Jaipur had a minimum of 7 degree celsius. Lucknow had a minimum temperature of 9 degree celsius while Varanasi saw 10 degrees.

The capital recorded a minimum temperature of 3 degree celsius today.

A slight improvement from Thursday's minimum of 2 degrees. Over 100 people have died in the biting cold across North India. In Amritsar temperature improved from negative levels earlier in the week to 6 degree celsius and in Dehra Dun the minimum was 7 degrees. It was 8 degree celsius in Lucknow, while Shimla had a minimum temperature of 5 degree celsius.
