New Delhi: The chilly weather in North India continues as rains lash several areas in Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh. Higher reaches in Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh also experienced heavy snowfall. The MET department has attributed these rains to the western disturbances.
Transport was affected in the Sawjian Sector in Poonch due to snowfall. The temperature in the national capital remained at 15 degrees Celcius, normal for this time of the year, but the minimum temperature is expected to drop by Monday.
The weatherman predicts heavy snow fall and thunderstorms are expected in the tribal belts of Himachal Pradesh. Thundershowers and hail can also be expected in parts of Uttar Pradesh.
Normal life was thrown out of gear as heavy showers lashed large parts of the state, bringing a little of the chill back even as the forecast for the coming two days warned of more rainfall. The MeT office said light to moderate rainfall and thundershowers occurred at most places in the state with Karvi in Chitrakoot and Najibabad in Bijnore district recording 5 cm rainfall each.
