Adilabad: While the communal violence in Orissa and Karnataka are still fresh in public memory, a similar incident has claimed another family in Vatoli village of Adilabad in Andhra Pradesh. The incident took place on Sunday, October 12.

The dead included three children who were charred to death as the house was torched by an irate mob.

This attack comes just two days after clashes broke out between two communities in Bhainsa.

A religious procession was making its way through the town on Friday evening, when an altercation broke out with members of another group.

Both sides pelted stones at each other. And as the violence spread, several shops were set ablaze.

Although, the Police are refusing to comment on the link between the two incidents, relatives of the victims insist otherwise.

“They have burnt everything. My entire family is gone,” said a surviving member of the family.

Sources say the police did not take precautionary measures though they had prior information about the communal disturbance in the village.

No senior officers were present in the village at the time of the incident on Sunday. Though curfew was imposed since Friday, the incident seemingly occurred on early Sunday morning.

Meanwhile, politicians agree on one thing.

Asaduddin Owaisi, a member of the Parliament has demanded a CBI probe. “We don't trust the police with all this; they are not capable. So we demand a CBI inquiry.”

Andhra Pradesh state Home Minister K Jana Reddy too agreed that CBI should step in. The probe has been handed over to the CBI.
