New Delhi: Even though Anna Hazare has ruled out negotiations with any non-government nominee, the Congress is unofficially in touch with Sri Sri Ravi Shankar to help mediate with him.
"Hopefully you will get good news soon," said Ravi Shankar while going to meet Hazare at the Ramlila Maidan on Monday afternoon.
After meeting Hazare, Ravi Shankar said that he could not reveal anything yet.
Earlier, speaking to IBN Lokmat Editor Nikhil Wagle at the Ramlila Maidan, Hazare clarified that he would only negotiate with either Prime Minister Manmohan Singh or Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi on the Lokpal issue. He said that he would not negotiate with any other mediator including Union Home Minister P Chidambaram or Union Telecom and HRD Minister Kapil Sibal.
Hazare added that he can talk with the Prime Minister's Office or Rahul. He also said that he was ready to talk with Maharashtra Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan.
Claiming that no official mediator had approached him or his associates till now, Hazare said that would not speak to anyone without the presence of his advisers.
Demanding that the Lokpal Bill introduced by the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) Government in Parliament be withdrawn immediately as it was weak and cannot fight the corruption menace, Hazare stated that state level Lokpal mechanism cannot be diluted.
Hazare's fast entered the seventh day on Monday with doctors reporting that he had lost 5 kg in the last one week.
