Party supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav said that the SP has always maintained that it was a fake encounter and that Congress is saying that now just to get Muslim votes in state polls.
"Digvijaya Singh and Congress are misleading Muslims in UP. Why has Congress realised its folly on Batla House encounter now? What was Digivijaya Singh doing till now," Mulayam said.
"They will not be able to make a dent in my vote base, nobody has any faith in them. Now they remember Batla house? When SP leaders like Amar Singh and myself went to Batla House and were saying that this was a fake encounter they did not do anything," he added.
SP leader Azam Khan said, "We demand from the Congress party and especially Rahul Gandhi who is on a visit in the northern Uttar Pradesh that a case should be registered against Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit for fake Batla house encounter. She should be held responsible for the case."
