New Delhi: After much delay, the Congress has released it's manifesto for the Assembly elections in Madhya Pradesh.

The party has promised to give wheat at Re 1 per kg to those living under the poverty line if voted to power and interest-free loans to farmers.

This comes after rival BJP has promised wheat at Rs 2 per kg and three per cent interest for agricultural loans

In Rajasthan, both the BJP and Congress are going through a tough time trying to pacify the unprecedented numbers of rebel candidates.

As many as 134 rebels from the two parties have filed their nomination papers as independent candidates, which threatens to dent into the votebank both the big parties.

After wide spread violence in the first phase of polling in Chhattisgarh, more than 300 companies of central forces and state police forces have been deployed for the second and last phase of Assembly elections in 51 constituencies on Thursday.

Former chief minister from Congress, Ajit Jogi is among the 687 candidates whose fate will be decided in this round.
