New Delhi: The Congress party has kicked off its preparations for the big battle of 2014. And this time it is Rahul Gandhi who'll be spearheading the party's campaign for the General Elections. The Congress on Thursday appointed the Gandhi scion the head of the Coordination Committee for the 2014 Lok Sabha elections.
Rahul, who is already a member of the Congress war group, will be accompanied by senior leaders like Ahmed Patel, Digvijaya Singh, Jairam Ramesh and Madhusudan Mitry, who will also be a part of the panel.
Apart from this, the Congress will have a publicity group and its members would be Ambika Soni, Digvijaya Singh, Jyotiraditya Scindia and Manish Tewari.
The Congress party also seems aware of the vitality of the allies with whom it would head to the elections. A committee with some veteran leaders will look after the pre-poll alliance of the party for 2014.
The members of the pre-poll alliance committee will be Union Petroleum and Natural Gases Minister M Veerappa Moily and Union Defence Minister AK Antony. The other members would be Jitender Singh and Suresh Pachauri.
