Chennai: Five weeks into its release, Sivaji is still running strong, but now there's a twist in the tale.
A Congress party worker in Tamil Nadu, Satyamurthy, is up in arms about a scene in Sivaji where the villain in the film is shown to have portraits of Congress chief Sonia Gandhi and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh in his office.
Satyamurthy has filed a defamation case against State Information Minister Parithi Ilamvazhuthi, the censor board, Sivaji's producer AVM Saravanan, director Shankar, superstar Rajinikanth and even former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister, Chandrababu Naidu.
Says Satyamurthy's advocate, Kanagaraj, "He is conveying a wrong message - as if our leaders are backing the villain, as if the villain is a Congress-man."
Satyamurthy's asking for the objectionable scene to be removed before further screenings.
He is also demanding a compensation of Rs 50 crore, since the film is already a big hit.
The case is expected to come up for hearing at the Chennai High Court on Tuesday.
