New Delhi: While New Delhi is talking about fighting terror at a global scale, things are not very comforting at a local level. Police in Jodhpur have discovered a tunnel that extends from India into Pakistan under the border.
The tunnel has been made right under the nose of the BSF, which is the first line of defence against cross-border infiltrations.
BSF officials deny the existence of the tunnel, even though it has been confirmed by two smugglers captured at Barmer. The men - Iliyas and Eklu - say the tunnel is used to smuggle in drugs and fake currency from Pakistan.
Iliyas and Eklu have also confessed to meeting their Pakistani contacts and accepting consignments from them through the tunnel. It is also said that a Pakistani national, Salem, delivered heroin to the duo recently.
However, according to IG Jodhpur range, Rajeev Dasot, smugglers from both the sides prepared the plan jointly and transferred the consignments.
