While the police say 25-year-old Suchita Anand committed suicide, her family says dowry harassment led to her death.
The Mumbai Police have gone ahead and registered a case of suicide. However, her parents allege that she was harassed by her in-laws.
Her mother refuses to believe that her daughter could have ended her life out of desperation.
Her father, R K Anand says, "Usse bahut marte the. Head injury bhi hui thi." (They used to beat her up. She even had a injury once because of the the beatings.")
Suchita was a resident of Delhi and had been married for the last five years. There is even a case of dowry harassment registered against her husband and in-laws in the Amar Colony police station in South Delhi.
However, Neither the Delhi Police nor the Mumbai Police have made any arrests so far.
