A villager was allegedly killed by Maoists in Bijapur district of Chhattisgarh, police said on Monday.
"Kutti Sodhi's body was found on the Bedre-Kutru road on Monday," a senior police official said. "The incident came to light on Monday morning after some villagers informed the police that Sodhi's body was lying on the road, a few kilometres away from his native village Kerpe," he said.
"Prima facie, it appeared that he was attacked with sharp-edged weapons, though the exact cause behind the incident is yet to be known," he said. "Police personnel have been mobilised in the forests to nab the culprits," he added.
