New Delhi: The murder of television journalist Soumya Viswanathan that happened almost three weeks ago is yet to be solved and there is another incidence of violent behaviour on the streets of Delhi.
In the early hours of Thursday, a couple travelling home in their car was accosted by men in another car. The three attackers threw bottles at the couple in the car and ended up injuring the woman inside.
The incident took place in Delhi's Model Town area. Pooja Dhingra, a victim of the assault was injured. When her husband Rohit Dhingra protested, he was beaten up.
The couple also accuse the men of trying to snatch a gold chain from them. Police are yet to register a complaint in this incident.
Meanwhile, Jaspreet Singh who was driving the Maruti has in turn accused Rohit of ramming into his car first before the incident took place.
However Rohit maintains that, "A maruti 800 started chasing my car and rammed inot my car from the left side. They threw an empty bottle of whiskey and a glass at my car. When I called the PCR one of the three people ran away. The police did not even accomopany us when we went to get our MLC done."
Road rage, especially in the late hours and isolated areas is a real and present danger in the streets of the national capital.
