London: A British couple has been jailed for punching their daughter while screaming racist insults because they said she had brought shame on their family by dating a black man.
David and Frances Champion assaulted their 17-year-old daughter Jane and her boyfriend Aflonce Ncube in two attacks in St. Thomas, Swansea, the Daily Mail reported.
Jane was repeatedly punched in the face, grabbed round the throat and had her hair pulled which left her with lumps and bruises.

Ncube was kicked in the legs, and abused over his skin colour.
The 50-year-old David Champion was jailed for 12 months and his 47-year-old wife for nine months.
The assault took place after the parents found the girl in a "state of undress" with her boyfriend when they returned to their home.
After the attack, Jane took refuge at her grandmother's house but returned home once the situation calmed down.
A month later, the parents confronted Jane in a pub and asked her if she was still seeing the man.
When she replied that she was, her father punched her in the face, the Swansea Crown Court heard.
The parents then went looking for Ncube at a restaurant where he worked as a waiter. They began shouting in the restaurant while Ncube hid until the couple were asked to leave.
