Bangalore: The Karnataka High Court has issued an emergent summons to actor yesteryear’s actor Sanjay Khan for allegedly using the Karnataka police to arrest and harass his tour agent in Delhi.
The case relates to Khan’s Golden Spa resort in Bangalore, for which he had a contract with tour agent Vijay Kumar Singh.
They parted ways in July when Vijay Kumar issued a legal notice saying Khan owed him nearly Rs 7 crore.
Khan in return filed a criminal case and Karnataka Crime Branch sleuths arrested Singh on August 14.
Advocate for Vijay Kumar Singh C V Nagesh said, “Vijay Kumar Singh was made to sit in a chair in the workshop when criminals were subject to torture to extract confessions and he was told… your fate will be that if you don't settle the dispute with Sanjay Khan.”
Vijay's complaint is that on August 18, while he was still in police custody, he was forced to sign a settlement agreement – two affidavits and a board resolution.
On August 18, Vijay Kumar while still in custody was forced to sign the documents, his wife Jyotsna tried to get some help by writing petitions to the governor and the Chief Justice and the state human rights commission seeking their help. But the documents had been signed and the damage done.
The notices have been issued to Sanjay Khan and police commissioner Shankar Bidari. The case is expected to be heard two weeks from now.
