New Delhi: After the death of a four-year-old, the Ghaziabad District Magistrate has asked the municipal commissioner to make a report on the number of open drains in the city.
CNN-IBN has learnt that the District Magistrate has ordered temporary closure of all drains near educational institutions.
School authorities will have to share responsibility on this front. The civic body has also been asked to step up cleaning of all open drains.
Officials say it's not possible to close them but regular cleaning and construction of some structure around the drains could prevent such incidents.
