Kolkata: Athlete Pinki Pramanik's former live-in partner has alleged that she was forced to make allegations against her by Avatar Singh, who is the husband of former athlete and CPM MP Jyotirmoyee Sikdar.
Pinki's former partner has submitted copies of taped telephone chats with Avatar Singh as evidence to the police. She has alleged that Avatar had told her to take nude pictures of Pinki and blackmail her in return for a land deal.
Ironically, Jyotirmoyee Sikdar was one of the most active campaigners for Pinki's release when she was in jail. According to Pinki's former partner, the plan was allegedly hatched to force Pinki to hand over a three cottah prime plot to Avatar where he wanted to make real estate developments.
In her complaint, she alleged that Pinki and Avatar had disagreed over the transfer amount following which the latter approached her to expose Pinki's gender ambiguity before public.
The Trinamool government in West Bengal has already ordered an inquiry into the details of the conditions under which the plot was given to Pinki.
