Cricket betting racket busted, three arrested

Bangalore: A special team of Bangalore Crime Branch on Thursday arrested three bookies allegedly involved in cricket betting in Bangalore. The police recovered more than Rs 2 crore in cash, 25 mobile phones, SIM cards of different telecom service providers, two revolvers, a laptop, an Internet USB device and two cars.

The three bookies have been identified as 27-year-old Ravi alias Fighter Ravi, 28-year-old Vipul and 27-year-old Vinod.

The trio was placing bets and putting money on Sunday's World Cup match between India and England, which will be played in Bangalore.
