Best-selling author Jeffrey Archer is in India to promote his latest book A Prisoner of Birth. Archer loves cricket but isn't a convert to the latest version of the game.
Archer on Test Cricket vs Twenty20
I am mad about cricket but I do think that cricket is a Test match not a Twenty20. I think Twenty20 is fun it's entertainment. But a Test match when you have got a Sachin Tendulkar at the crease and you have got an Englishman like James Anderson or Chris Broad trying to get him out. is great.
Fan of Sachin Tendulkar
I had lunch with Rahul Dravid and Sachin Tendulkar a few days back and I said I hope you (Tendulkar) get a century at Lord's. Despite your great record and you great history, Sachin has never got a century at Lord's. He has 39 Test centuries but not one at Lord's. All the English people love cricket and we all wanted him to get a 100 at Lords and we wanted him out at 101 but we all wanted him to get a 100.
Cricketers reading Archer
Many of the team have written to me that they read all books because they go on a lot of trips abroad where they are struck in hotels and to my surprise I found that they had read Kane & Abel. They had read all the books. So I sent a copy of this to every member of the team when they were playing in the last Test series
