Commentary (England 1st Innings)

Clarke picks up the trophy along with his team mates. A great win this for Australia after regaining the Ashes this summer. That is from us. Join us for the 1st T20I on 29th January, 2014. Until then Good Bye.

Michael Clarke, the winning captain, says they won it only after the last wicket. He gives credit to the bowlers who executed it well. He says both teams deserve credit for bowling well in a low scoring game. Thanks the crowd for support and wishes England good luck for the future.

Alastair Cook says they should have got over the line. He feels England were in winning position throughout the game but gives credit to Australia for the win. The skipper says Australia have had a good summer and won against them on many occasions. It has been a tough two months for England. He adds when luck is against you, it's against you when asked about Bopara's stumping.

Aaron Finch is awarded the player of the series for his 258 runs in the 5 match series. His 258 included two centuries for Australia. He believes this series has given him a lot of confidence and he has enjoyed the series and the way it has come to him. He says a bit of luck came their way as they pulled off this win.

James Faulkner is the Man of the match for his two important wickets. He says, it was an incredible day of cricket on an important day. Some days it comes off, some days it doesn't. Feels Australia have played as a unit with the ball and bat. He is looking forward to the T20Is.

Australia has pulled of a stunning win after England were on top for majority of the day. They defended 217 and completed the ODI series on a high. Australia have played with all their heart here and the bowlers bowled brilliantly. Watson had to bowl the nervous last over and he did so calmly. A great comeback in the match, especially after Morgan and Root had it covered for England. A brilliant win for Australia on Australia Day. Great finish to the series after winning by just 5 runs.
