Commentary (Australia 1st Innings)

That's it from all of us here. Will Australia complete the whitewash or will England come back to win the two matches and salvage some pride? Join us for the next match on 24th January, 2014. Until then, it's good bye and take care.

Michael Clarke - Says the bowlers bowled well on this batting deck. Credits the spinners for bowling well again. Says Australia always love to lead the way in the field. Credits Warner saying that he can get a break as well for he has had a good summer. Says his primary job as a captain, was to win the series for the team. Says he may rest in the next match at Perth, but may come back for the match at Adelaide.

Alastair Cook - Admits their start was good but they lost wickets. Adds they need to convert the starts, they have two more matches to correct and try and win a match first on this tour. Says this will be a good experience for the team with the World Cup coming up soon.

David Warner is adjudged Man-of-the-Match award for his brilliant performance. Starts off thanking that he did not hit Clarke, when he scored that direct hit to dismiss Bell. Credits their fielding coach for keeping them in good form in the field as well. Says he is happy to perform, calls it a great wicket to bat, so he enjoyed batting. Admits it is always fantastic to be part of a good team and thanks crowd as well for supporting them.

Warner started off briskly scoring his eighth half century to get Australia off to a brilliant start. Clarke played a handy knock to get them closer to the total before Bopara bowled him. Marsh then played sensibly scoring a fifty with a good cameo from Haddin to seal the series for Australia. England had no answer to the onslaught from Australia as they just went through the motions once Warner got Australia off to a good start.

Australia bowled brilliantly to keep England down to a decent total. Cook and Bell started aggressively but could not continue as Australia bowled well and were terrific in the field. Morgan was the top scorer for them as he continued his good form scoring yet another fifty. Bresnan played well in the end overs, scoring an unbeaten 41 to get England something to bowl at. For Australia, Coulter-Nile and Doherty were the pick of the bowlers.

Australia seal the 5-match series 3-0 with two matches to play. They were just too good for England who looked completely listless in the field, like for the most part of this tour so far.
