    England innings:

    End of over 40: England needed 21 runs off the last four overs when bad light stopped play, ending the fifth and last Test in a draw, giving England 3-0 series win. England 206 for 5

    End of over 36: Set batsmen Kevin Pietersen (62) and Jonathan Trott (59) fell in quick succession as England lost their way slightly chasing 227 to win. While Pietersen was caught by David Warner off Ryan Harris, Trott was out leg before by James Faulkner.

    End of over 33: Kevin Pietersen and Jonathan Trott scored half-centuries as England moved close towards Australia's set total of 227. While Pietersen hit nine fours, Trott stroked five during his knock. England 159 for 2

    End of over 23: England lost Joe Root (11) and Alastair Cook (34) after Australia declared their second innings at 111 for 6, setting a target of 227. England 100 for 2

    Australia innings:

    End of over 23: Australia reached 111 for 6 at tea and declared their score on the same score, setting Australia a target of 227. Michael Clarke and Mitchell Starc remained unbeaten on 28 and 13.

    End of over 17: Australia lost wickets in a heap, with Shane Watson, Brad Haddin and James Faulkner going early. Australia would like to set England a target of around 240. Australia 78 for 4, lead by 193 runs.

    End of over 9: A brilliant return catch by James Anderson saw the return of David Warner (12) after Australia started positively in order to force a result on the fifth day. Australia 36 for 1

    England innings:

    End of over 144.4: James Faulkner picked up four wickets as England were bowled out for 377, which was 115 runs away from Australia's 492 for 9 declared. Faulkner got the wickets of Ian Bell (45), Matt Prior (47), Graeme Swann (34) and James Anderson (4) to finish with 4 for 51. England 377 all out

    End of over 137: Matt Prior and Graeme Swann played freely as England touched 350 for 7 at lunch on day five. Prior and Swann were unbeaten on 35 and 24 respectively.

    End of over 131: Australia got their second wicket of the day when James Faulkner had Ian Bell (45) caught down the leg side by Brad Haddin. Matt Prior, meanwhile, was playing the attacking game, along with Stuart Broad. England 308 for 6

    End of over 124: Ryan Harris provided Australia an early breakthrough, picking up Chris Woakes (25) who was caught at second slip by Clarke after England resumed the day from 247 for 4. Ian Bell was batting on 41. England 277 for 5

    Day 4 Roundup: Rain washed out the entire day's play.

    England were 247 for 4 at stumps on day three, still 245 runs behind Australia.
