    Commentary (India 2nd Innings)

Well that is it from us. Hope you liked our coverage. Do join us for the next Test match on 7th August. Till then we bid goodbye.

Man of the Match ( James Anderson ) says that it was a good birthday present to have a five-fer on the birthday and everyone bowled well. He also adds that Ballance and Bell batted magnificently to post a huge total and help their side to reach a good total. He also says that he is at his best when the ball is reversing and hopes that he can repeat the performance over and over again.

ALASTAIR COOK says that he is not relieved but happy that they won and virtually won each and every session of the match. He adds that it was a tough Test match but the crowd has backed them completely and he thanks the crowd for their support. He further adds that his game is heading back in the right direction and is happy that he scored 160 odd runs in the Test match. He also says that Moeen Ali's bowling has improved leaps and bounds and the lad has worked really hard to up his game.

MS DHONI says that we played the fast bowlers well but crumbled to Ali and need to get more aggressive against hi. He adds that the soft dismissals hurt his side and losing wickets at crucial moments lead to the downfall. He further adds that they went with an extra batsman this time because they never used the extra bowler. He also says that he will reconsider the strategy and think about the four bowler plan and will take a decision according to the pitch. ( On Pankaj Singh ) He did bowl well but was certainly unlucky. He did beat the outside edge often but was unlucky.

It was the same story in the fourth innings as India got off to a horrible start. Anderson and Ali bowled exceptionally well to bundle the Indian side. Rahane was the lone man to score a gritty innings of 56 as his side was all out for just 178 runs.

India, in response, were bundled for a mere 330 runs. None of the players really went on to convert their starts. Dhoni and Rahane both scored half-centuries but it wasn't enough as the home side had a lead of 239 runs. England came out to bat with all guns blazing. They scored 205 runs more to add to their lead and declared to put in the visitors to bat.

The Test match started with England winning a crucial toss and electing to bat first. The English players backed the captain's call and posted a humungous total of 569 runs. It was good to see the captain amongst runs as he scored a gritty knock of 95. Bell and Ballance both scored daddy hundreds. Buttler too joined the party by scoring a quickfire 85 of just 83 balls.
