Commentary (South Africa 1st Innings)

That is all we have for you today. Do join us for the third ODI in Abu Dhabi on Wednesday, November 6th. Till then, it's goodbye and cheers from us!

Shahid Afridi for his brilliant bowling display has been adjudged the Man of the Match.

The SA batting had no answer to the spinners as they fell one by one to the guile of Ajmal and Afridi. They did very well with the ball to restrict Pakistan to a moderate total but themselves failed miserably with the bat being bowled out for a meagre 143. The result means that the series is locked at one apiece and with three matches to go, it is difficult to call which side holds the advantage.

What a magnificent comeback by Pakistan after their massive disappointment 48 hours back. Batting first on a good wicket, they made a below par total of 209. Their bowling looked a class apart as the spinners ran rampant. Afridi was the pick of the bowlers with three massive wickets. Ajmal and Hafeez did a brilliant job tying one end up and allowing Afridi to attack from the other end. Mohammad Irfan was superb too with his pace and bounce.

40.4 S Afridi to I Tahir, OUT! All over! Drifting into the middle stump that spins sharply, Tahir is beaten in the flight and is drawn forward, misses it and Akmal does the rest to stump him out.
