Commentary (Pakistan 1st Innings)

Thisara Perera has been adjudged the Man of the Match for his scintillating knock of 65 from just 36 balls, that helped Sri Lanka cross 300 after being three down early in their innings. He also picked up three wickets during Pakistan's chase. The next ODI is on the 30th of this month at Dambulla. It's a day game, so the match starts at 1000 hours local time. Do join us for the decider, it should be an exciting contest. Till then, cheers and goodbye!

Pakistan had a tough chase at hand but they started well after the early loss of Sharjeel Khan. Hafeez came in with unbelievable form and confidence as he picked boundary after boundary. Shehzad looked pretty good as well. However, the spinners pulled the run rate down and also got rid of the pair. Misbah tried to settle in but couldn't break the shackles when he wanted to. Fawad Alam proved his worth yet again with a decent contribution but the middle and lower order finally capitulated to award Sri Lanka the series levelling win.

What promised to be a tight game of cricket, perhaps an ODI classic, turned out to be a tame surrender by Pakistan in the end. Sri Lanka posted 310 runs in their innings through some wonderful displays of batting by Jayawardene, Mathews and Perera's blitzkrieg in the end. Everything fell in place for them with the bat today. The Pakistani bowling did not look much threatening throughout the innings.
