Angelo Mathews starts off saying that they wanted to break the barrier between them and the finals. Credits the entire team for playing well. Mentions that the chase was superb. Calls it a big victory for all of them, he is pleased with the way they have played. Calls it a tough call to drop Mendis with him performing well, but says Lakmal was good with the ball. Thanks the supporters for supporting them and having faith in them.

Misbah-ul-Haq begins by stating that losing three quick wickets at the top was bad, they recovered well but could have scored 20 more. Mentions they could not do the basics right. Adds their plan was to not give wickets to Malinga, which did not go right. Adds that Ajmal bowled well from one end but the rest of bowlers were not disciplined. Says that batting was a positive for them with Umar, Hafeez, Afridi and Shehzad playing well. Adds that most of the guys are in good form and know the conditions well so they have a good chance in the World T20.

Lahiru Thirimanne is adjudged the Man of the Series. Begins stating that he just wanted to play the anchor role, they knew 260 was a gettable total, and someone had to play a long knock. Mentions that the ball was skidding which helped him bat well. Ends by saying that he is happy and proud of his performance in the tournament.

Lasith Malinga is adjudged the Man of the Match for his splendid performance with the ball. He starts off by saying that he stuck to his basics in the last couple of days at practice. Adds he was just bowling his line and length and is happy that he bowled well. Mentions that he is looking forward to improve his bowling with more wickets.

A very good tournament for Sri Lanka. Everyone in the team chipped in with crucial performances just when the team needed. Malinga bowled well for them. Thirimanne and Sangakkara batted really well throughout the tournament. The younger players too stepped up for them.

Earlier today, winning the toss and electing to bat, Pakistan were left reeling at 18/3 thanks to some superb bowling from Malinga. Misbah along with Alam did well to bring them back in the match with a good stand of 122 runs. Both of them played really well scoring fifties to set up a platform. Misbah got out on 65 but Alam continued to play brilliantly to score his maiden ODI hundred. Alam and Akmal then finished well for them adding 101 runs in the last ten overs but in the end it turned out to be too less for the in-form Sri Lankans.

Ajmal was the best bowler for Pakistan, taking 3/26 but it was not enough as the rest of the bowlers failed to create pressure.
