New Delhi: Apart from a thrilling finish, the first qualifier of IPL-4 between Chennai Super Kings and Royal Challengers Bangalore had it's share of injury scares as the defending champions reached yet another Indian Premier League final.
A straight drive by Royal Challengers batsman Saurabh Tiwary hit Chennai off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin flush on his left temple area which led to him taking no further part in the game.
However, Ashwin did not seem to be in too much strife and even glanched at the giant screen to relive the entire incident as he walked off the field.
Pomersbach collided with RCB teammate Virat Kohli after Ashwin was struck on the head by Saurabh Tiwary's straight drive.
As if that was not enough, RCB's Virat Kohli was involved in a nasty collision with teammate Luke Pomersbach towards the dying moments of the match as both tried to stop the ball from crossing the boundary line.
Pomersbach could be seen bleeding from the nose and required immediate medical assistance.
The Super Kings went on to beat the Royal Challengers by 6 wickets with two balls to spare to reach their third IPL final in four years.
