Bangladesh squandered another golden chance to register a victory against Sri Lanka in the first ODI when they could not close the contest after restricting the visitors to 67 for 8 at one stage, and Thursday's second encounter will provide the hosts another chance to beat their sub-continent rivals in any format on this tour.

Bangladesh's frailties with the bat were once again exposed in the opening match of the series. Their middle order crumbled chasing a modest total of 181. In that light, Tamil Iqbal's availability will be welcomed, but if he continues to remain on the sidelines, then Bangladesh will want Mushfiqur Rahim and Shakib Al Hasan - their two most experienced players - to take more responsibility.

Mashrafe Mortaza, the seamer, too is unfit and that has put extra pressure on other medium pacers and spinners. What will be important for the hosts is to win some crucial moments in the game.

Thursday's match will provide Bangladesh another chance to beat their sub-continent rivals in any format on this tour.

For Sri Lanka, they are unbeaten on the tour so far and there is no reason for them to make changes to the eleven. But they don't want to repeat the inexplicable batting performance they showed in the first game.

They did well to restrict the opposition 13 runs short of the target on Monday, with captain Angelo Mathews picking up three wickets, but they will want to be more clinical.

Playing XI:
