R Ashwin's 5-wicket haul restricted New Zealand to 232 for 9 in their second innings after India were bowled out for 353 on Day 3 of the second Test in Bangalore.

Earlier, New Zealand have reached 123 for 4, leading India by 135 runs overall. Openers Brendon McCullum and Martin Guptill started aggressively to take New Zealand lead to 41 at lunch after Southee's 7 for 64 helped the visitors bowl out India in the morning.

Virat Kohli completed his second Test hundred soon after play started on the third morning but he was dismissed for 103, which led to a lower-order collapse.
