Mirpur: A disciplined bowling effort helped Duronto Rajshahi beat the Dhanka Gladiators by 14 runs in their Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) encounter here on Thursday.
Chasing just 145 runs to win, Gladiators were restricted to 130/7 in their 20 overs. Pakistani pacer Mohammad Sami grabbed three for 23 in his four overs, while Monir Hossain took two for 22. Saqlain Sajib and Marlon Samuels shared a wicket each.
Opener Imran Nazir remained unbeaten on 54 off 45 balls as rest of the Gladiator's batsmen failed to capitalise on the starts they got.
Earlier, Rajshahi batsmen didn't fare any better as they could only muster 144/9 in their 20 overs. Samuels was the top scorer with 36 off 38 balls.
It's Rajshahi's third win of the league and they lie third in the points table. Gladiators, with three wins but better net run rate than Rajshahi, are at No. 2. Chittagong Kings top the table with four victories.
