Khulna: Shamsur Rahman's entertaing knock of 52 off 45 balls helped Rangpur Riders register their first win in this year's Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), as they beat Chittagong Kings by six wickets on Tuesday.
Chasing 133 to win, Riders overcame a stuttering start but in the end cruised past Chittagong Kings' total. Nasir Hossain made significant contributions to the run chase. Middle-order batsman Nasir Hossain scored a watchful 45 not out off 46 balls to ensure Rangpur Riders win.
Winning the toss and electing to bat, Chittagong Kings were restricted to modest total of 132 thanks to some good bowling. Debutant Dimitri Mascarenhas impressed with the ball as he picked up 1 for 26 in his four overs. West Indies pacer Fidel Edwards also bowled brilliantly and finished with figures of 1 for 24 in 4 overs.
