The 28-year-old Bravo hasn\'t represented West Indies since last June.
Bridgetown, Barbados: Allrounder Dwayne Bravo and fast bowler Tino Best were recalled to West Indies' 13-player squad on Tuesday for the opening three matches of the one-day international series against Australia.
Best, who has played 14 Tests and 12 ODIs since his debut in 2003, hasn't played for West Indies for two and a half years. But the 30-year-old paceman was a standout in the Caribbean Twenty20 tournament in January to force his inclusion to start the five-match series, which begins in St. Vincent on March 16.
The 28-year-old Bravo hasn't represented West Indies since last June, when he pulled out midway through the ODI home series against India to "refocus and reflect" on his game. Since then, he has played for Chennai Super Kings, Sydney Sixers and Chittagong Kings in Twenty20 tournaments in India, Australia and Bangladesh, respectively.
"Tino over the last two years has been very consistent with his performance in the shorter format of the game, and Dwayne looks like he has returned to form and has been consistent, plus his on-field experience will be of value to us," said Clyde Butts, West Indies' chairman of selectors.
Opening batsman Johnson Charles is the only player in the squad without one-day international experience. The 23-year-old St. Lucian made his international debut last September in two Twenty20 matches in England.
The selectors were handicapped by the enforced absences of opening batsmen Lendl Simmons and Adrian Barath because both have injured fingers, as well as key fast bowler Ravi Rampaul, who has dengue fever.
Butts said fast bowler Fidel Edwards is not being considered for ODIs at the moment.
"It is all about workload management as we approach a long and demanding schedule of cricket, so we have to handle him with care, considering the injury problems which he has had in the past," Butts said.
Edwards, however, is currently playing for the Dolphins in South Africa's domestic Twenty20 league.
West Indies squad: Darren Sammy (captain), Denesh Ramdin (vice-captain), Tino Best, Devendra Bishoo, Darren Bravo, Dwayne Bravo, Johnson Charles, Sunil Narine, Kieron Pollard, Kieran Powell, Kemar Roach, Andre Russell, Marlon Samuels.
