Brisbane Heat won BBL 2012-13

Perth: Brisbane Heat got the better of Perth Scorchers by 34 runs to win the Big Bash Twenty20 competition at the Western Australia Cricket Association (WACA) ground on Saturday.

West Indian pacer Kemar Roach starred in his spell of 3 for 18 and never let Perth get a firm grip of their chase, restricting them to 133 for 9 while in pursuit of 168 to win. This was Perth's second loss in the final after they lost to the Sydney Sixers in 2012.

Brisbane posted 167 for 5, courtesy fireworks from Joe Burns (43 from 26 balls) and Daniel Christian a (37 off 21).

Chasing 168 to win, Perth could only muster 133 for 9 after Kemar Roach\'s 3 for 18.

Perth's hero of the semi-final win over Melbourne Stars, David Hussey, came in to bat as late as the 14th over with a tall ask of 71 runs to win off 37 balls. But the Australian limited-overs specialist fell in the 17th over, which led to a collapse where Perth lost 5 wickets for 5 runs.

The only consolation for Perth is having made it to the Champions League Twenty20 by virtue of reaching the Big Bash final.
