Colombo: Chamara Silva made a strong case for an international comeback by scoring 163 as Sri Lanka Development XI reached 376 for 5 against England on the opening day of a three-day warm-up match.
Silva faced 181 balls, hitting 25 boundaries and a six. He was supported well by captain Thilina Kandamby, who made 64, and Kusal Janith, who hit three sixes and four boundaries for an unbeaten 61. Silva played his last Test four years ago.
Stuart Broad, recovered from an injury, was the most successful bowler for England, taking 3 for 55. England beat a Sri Lanka Board XI by an innings and 15 runs in the first warm-up game.

Silva hit 163, including 25 fours and a six, as SL Development XI reached 376/5 on day one of a 3-day warm-up game.
England and Sri Lanka are to play two Tests starting from Monday.
