Johannesburg: South Africa's beleaguered cricket association has suspended its chief executive in the wake of a damaging hidden bonus scandal that has already led to three top officials resigning.
Cricket South Africa's board took the unanimous decision on Saturday to suspend Gerald Majola immediately and set up a disciplinary investigation. A judge-led committee found Majola tried to conceal bonus payments stemming from the 2009 Indian Premier League.
CSA also rescinded the decisions of an internal inquiry that cleared Majola but was then criticised by the committee for not being neutral and possibly trying to cover up Majola's actions.

The CSA Board has also set up a disciplinary investigation in the wake of a damaging hidden bonus scandal.
CSA elected a new acting president at the meeting after AK Khan, the man who led the much-criticised internal inquiry, resigned.
