Sydney: Paceman Pat Cummins has revealed he injured his heel during his Man-of-the-Match performance in the second Test win over South Africa, but he expects to be fit for the series-opening test against New Zealand in Brisbane next week.
The 18-year-old fast bowler took 6-79 in South Africa's second innings and scored the winning runs in a dramatic chase on Monday to help Australia to a series-leveling, two-wicket victory at Johannesburg.
During a promotional appearance in Sydney on Thursday, Cummins admitted he'd "pulled up a bit sore after the game."
"Hopefully I should be right to go ... It's nothing too dramatic."
Australia has injury concerns over pacemen Mitchell Johnson (toe) and Ryan Harris (hip), while allrounder Shane Watson has been hampered by a hamstring strain.
