Duleep Trophy: North in command vs West

Vadodara: North Zone were in a commanding position against West Zone at stumps on the second day of their Duleep Trophy semi-final being played at the Moti Baug ground in Vadodara.

The West tottering at 176 for five, still require 135 runs to avoid the follow on. North Zone scored 460 in their first essay.

Delhi medium pacer Sumit Narwal was the pick of the bowlers grabbing three for 34 in his 11 over spell. Joginder Sharma and skipper Amit Mishra got a wicket each.

West at one stage were reeling at 63 for four in 17.1 overs before veteran Wasim Jaffer (53) and Ravindra Jadeja (62 batting) added 107 runs for the fifth wicket.

West skipper Jaffer was finally out when Shikhar Dhawan took a smart catch off Mishra's bowling.
