Sydney: Hampshire and England opening batsman Michael Lumb has become the Sydney Sixers' first overseas signing for Australia's Twenty20 Big Bash league in January, according to the team.
Lumb opened the batting for England in their successful T20 World Cup campaign where they defeated Australia in the final in Barbados in May last year.
Lumb, a hard-hitting left-hander, played for Queensland in last year's Big Bash, scoring 137 runs in seven matches at a strike rate of 141.23.
"I really enjoyed my experience in Australia last season and it will be a pleasure to run out at the SCG as part of a really strong side," Lumb said. It is a superb ground and I can't wait to get the chance to play there with the Sixers".
