Khulna: In a low scoring affair Chittagong Kings register their first win this season edging our Barisal Burners by 21 runs at the Sheikh Abu Naser Stadium, Khulna on Thursday.
Chasing a modest target of 129 to win, the Burner’s were bundled out for 108 with their captain Hodge top scoring with 34 before getting stumped. Hodge passed 5000-run mark in Twenty20s during his knock.
The middle-order frittered away the good work done by the opener as spinners Enamul Haque jnr and Arafat Sunny kept a check on the run-rate building the pressure on the Barisal batsmen. Haque accounted for Hodge’s wicket which opened the flood gates for the Chittagong Kings. Haque and Cooper got two wickets each with Jacob Oram and Ravi Bopara chipping in with one wicket each.

Brendon Taylor struggled in the middle scoring 14 off 23 balls with Elias Sunny and Azhar Mahmood bowling a telling line giving away nothing. Ryan ten Doeschate’s 28 and Oram’s 18 in the slog overs had ensured that he Kings reached a defendable total.
With two points from three games, Chittagong Kings climbed to fourth on the table whereas Barisal Burners were second from the bottom with two points from four games.
