London: England coach Andy Flower says the team's rift with Kevin Pietersen could soon be resolved, possibly paving the way for a recall for the flamboyant batsman for the upcoming tour to India.
Pietersen has been out of favour with England management since being dropped for sending "provocative" texts to South Africa players about then-test captain Andrew Strauss in August.
After weeks of talks, however, Flower says the dispute "is nearing an end now — in a positive way, I hope."
Flower says the team's rift with Pietersen could soon be resolved, possibly paving the way for a recall for the upcoming India tour.
Flower says on Tuesday there should be an announcement in the "next 36 hours" about Pietersen's future, which could mean the South African-born player receiving a belated central contract and maybe a place in the squad for the India tour starting on Oct. 25.
Flower says "if we get some of the formal legal proceedings out of the way, then we'll get on to the cricket thereafter."
